Rachel Shannon, LMSW - Founder
Welcome, I am so glad you’re here.
I am a graduate of Florida State University where I earned both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Clinical Social Work. Throughout my education and first several years of work, I supported families and individuals that were exposed to complex trauma, abuse, and neglect.
As a lifelong horsewoman, I have personally experienced the many positive benefits of spending time in nature and the equine environment and building relationships with the horses in my life.
I am a Certified Equine Facilitated Learning Practitioner through the HERD Institute and completed post graduate course work with the University of Denver’s Institute for Human and Animal Connection to further specialize in facilitating equine assisted psychotherapy sessions.
Our Values
Empathy
We meet every individual where they are, without judgement or expectation.
Safety
Our time together is a safe place for women to be themselves. In equine sessions, all precautions are taken to create an environment that fosters awareness and safety.
Peace
It’s not easy to take the time and deep effort to engage in wellness and personal growth activities. We promise to provide a peaceful setting and grounding experience for our time together.
Action
Whether you can begin today, or sometime soon, we focus on building a more peaceful life through actionable steps. These sessions are experiential - you will be learning and experiencing new skills in every session.
Compassionate Equestrianism
The equines we partner with in session are a beloved part of our team and are treated with respect as sentient and autonomous beings.
Motivation comes from within — and I’m here to help you activate it.
